About Take Your Time DELTA

I'm a freelance English Language Teaching (ELT) teacher trainer and consultant, based in the UK. I work full time on Take Your Time DELTA, and occasionally train on CELTA courses for The English Language Centre in Reading, where I live. I'm also a methodology writer, a self-published author and a co-author. I'm honoured to be an IATEFL Ambassador and have learnt so much from volunteering for various committees in IATEFL.

I passed the DELTA in 2013, including getting a Distinction in Module 1. Since then, I have completed an MA in Professional Development in Language Education at NILE, for which I was awarded a Distinction in 2023. When I'm not teaching, I love learning languages, reading, travelling and birdwatching.

I've got 10 years' experience in ELT, as a teacher of adults, teenagers and young learners, teacher trainer and academic coordinator. I've worked in Poland and the UK and am now based in Chile, where I work as a university lecturer and freelance teacher and teacher trainer. I'm an experienced CELTA trainer on both online and face-to-face courses. Additionally, I've prepared primary school teachers for the TKT-YL exam and delivered a wide variety of training sessions to in-service teachers. I'm really looking forward to meeting you soon and to supporting you on your DELTA journey.

Over my 20 years in ELT, I've taught adults, young learners and very young learners, been an academic manager, an IELTS examiner, and a teacher educator. I have worked all around the world, from Europe to Asia, the Middle East, South America and North America. I've trained teachers on courses such as TKT, CELTA and DELTA Module 1. I've also worked with in-service primary and secondary school English teachers and subject teachers in CLIL. I hold the DELTA and a Masters in International Education where I focussed on Innovation and Reform in 21st Century Education. I can't wait to get started on this nine-month journey with you.

I'm a materials writer, teacher trainer and Community Manager for Active Education. I've been nominated for an ELTON Award three times, winning for Our Languages (FTD Educação), which was awarded for Excellence in Course Innovation. I co-founded the Raise Up! project, encouraging diversity in ELT materials. I hold a DELTA and CELTA and have worked in Brazil, South Korea, Belgium, Costa Rica, the UK and the USA.

My main areas of interest are materials writing and teacher development. I'm a passionate advocate for teachers' associations and have volunteered for several over the course of my career. I was a founder and the inaugural President of BELTA in Belgium, and am currently the leader of BRAZ-TESOL Materials Writing SIG in Brazil, and coordinator of IATEFL Teacher Development SIG.

I'm a freelance teacher educator and have been working in ELT for 27 years. I've had the good fortune to work in such diverse contexts as the Middle East, Central and Southeast Asia, Africa, Central America and Europe.

During the last 15 years my focus has predominantly been teacher education, delivering large-scale educational reform projects for the British Council and other providers. I also run CELTA and TYLEC courses and have been supporting candidates with DELTA Module 3 since about 2011.

I'm based in Southeast Spain where I enjoy scuba diving and drumming in a local big band.

I'm a teacher, trainer, learning designer, and proud Mancunian based in Madrid. Alongside teaching English and delivering training sessions for Cambridge, I design online courses for education and design professionals, combining my ELT background with studies in UX and learning design to create engaging, meaningful learning experiences.

I know just how demanding the DELTA can be because I went through it myself back in 2016. Although I wish Sandy's courses had been around then, I'm delighted to be collaborating with her now to help candidates feel more confident, less overwhelmed and better equipped to achieve their goals.
